EMDR THERAPY
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of psychotherapy developed by Francine Shapiro that emphasizes the role of distressing memories in some mental health disorders. EMDR has been fully validated by the World Health Organization as effective therapeutic treatment for post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). EMDR is an evidence-based integrative psychotherapy technique that takes a triggering situation or memory and helps a person see disturbing events in a different, less distressing way while taking the emotional component of the memory away.
EMDR Therapy has been proven effective to produce positive outcomes for those dealing with anxiety, stress, and trauma among a variety of other concerns. EMDR therapy incorporates thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and body sensations that get in the way of living in the present moment.
